Rusk Torte

Roll 9 rusk into crumbs, add 1/2 cup sugar and mix. Add scant 1/4 lb. melted butter and mix. Save 1/2 cup for topping. Press remainder in pie pan.
Filling:
Heat 2 cups milk
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 2 heaping T. cornstarch. Add four eggs and mix. Add small amount of hot milk to thin and add
to hot milk and stir until boiling and thick. Add 1 t. vanilla, put into shell

Beat 4 egg whites intil stiff and dry. Add 2 heaping t. powdered sugar and beat
slowly until sugar is dissolved. Spread
over filling and top with 1/2 cup crumb mix. Bake 325" 25-30 min.
