Lemon Bread

1 cup sugar
5 T. butter
2 eggs
1 lemon rind, grated
1/2 cup milk
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 cup nuts

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs,add milk and dry ingredients, lemon rind and nuts. Bake 1 hr. 350".
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and juice of 1 lemon, heat and pour over bread as soon as it comes from oven.
