Dolores Lemon Bread

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 2/3 cup flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup nuts
Grated peel of 1 lemon

Cream butter and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and blend. Add 1/2
flour mixture, stir until well blended.
Add milk and rest of flour mixture, stir
until well blended. Add nuts and lemon peel. Bake in loaf pan 350" 1 hour.
Lemon Glaze:
Mix 1/4 cup sugar and juice of 1 lemon.
Heat until warm. Pour evenly over bread
as soon as it comes from oven. Cool
bread in pan for 10 min.
